TAOISM | The Philosophy Of Flow

TAOISM | The Philosophy Of Flow Many of us expect that the efforts shall be equal to result. Actually, Results do not equal to the amount of the energy spent or efforts spent. And results are the consequences of a series of action. Many of these actions come naturally and a task does not need more human intervention than necessary to steer it to the right direction. So, many of the problems solve themselves, if we go with the flow naturally. This life phenomenon can be compared to that of a river’s course.     The river already has a course or several courses, and once we find ourselves in that river, we can swim against the current, we can hold on to a branch or we can let go and go along the stream. Most of our lives, we swim against the current and we do not even realize this. Our mind believes that it can and should control the environment, in order to survive, which is a kind of egocentric because the vast majority of the processes within and as well as outside ourselves are not i

Intelligent or wise

Once two persons were sitting near a temple and were chit chatting… It was getting dark and cloudy… By then another person came there and asked if he could join them. They said 'oh with pleasure'. They were talking as friends… Then.. it started to rain… They were stuck. The third guy felt hungry and told the other two... Oh, we too are hungry they said. “He has 3 rotis and I have 5 rotis - Let all of us share” - said the second guy. Then a question arose as to how to share 8 rotis among three of them… The first person suggested “let's make three pieces out of each roti.. Then we will have 24 pieces… we three can have 8 pieces each”.. Everyone liked the idea. They made 24 pieces and ate 8 pieces each and satisfied their hunger and all slept off. In the morning the third person thanked the other two for allowing him to spend time with them and felt grateful to them for sharing rotis and being helpful. Out of gratitude he gave 8 gold coins to them and left his way… After he le

Plant a tree

An old man was planting a mango sapling. A smartly dressed man, walked up to him and asked what are you planting? The old man replied "a mango tree". The smart guy asked 'How old are you?" The old man said " Maybe sixty-seventy? I’m not sure." The smart guy again asked "How long do you think you will live?" The old man replied "who knows, its all God’s wish. Maybe a few years at most." Then the smart guy asked "By planting the mango tree at this age, do you think you can enjoy the fruits before you die?" The old man then said "So far in my life all the mangoes I have eaten came from trees which I did not plant. My previous generations planted those, so I am enjoying the fruit. This tree, when I plant, may be others will enjoy the fruit.’ The young man liked the answer and gave the old man a hundred rupee note as a gift. The old man kept staring at the note. On being asked why, he said "Normally, a mango tree bears fru

Surrender

A person started to walk on a rope tied between two tall towers at several hundred feet above the ground. He is slowly walking balancing a long stick in his hands. He has his son sitting on his shoulders. Everyone down were watching him in bated breath and were tensed. He slowly reached the second tower. Everyone clapped, whistled and welcomed him. They shook hands and took selfies. He asked the crowd "do you all think I can walk  back on the same rope now from this side to that side?". Crowd shouted "Yes, Yes, you can".  Do you trust me he asked.  They said yes, yes we are ready to bet on you. He said okay, can any one of you sit on my shoulder; I will take you to the other side safely. Everyone started to take a step backward! Do we surrender to those whose talents, abilities, skills, potentials are noticed?
